Will a comprehensive claim for hail damage raise my car insurance rate?
I'm nervous to make a claim after a hailstorm because I don't want to pay more for insurance. What should I do?

“Making a comprehensive insurance claim can raise your rates, even if you aren’t at fault for the damage. However, each insurance company is different. In some cases, carriers will only raise your premium after you make multiple comprehensive claims.
Before you file a claim, get a repair estimate from a body shop. If the damage is relatively inexpensive to fix, it may be cheaper in the long run to pay for the repairs out of pocket instead of filing a claim.”

Why should I pay for liability insurance when I can get a surety bond through the Ohio DMV?
I'm considering paying the DMV to get a surety bond as proof of insurance. It would cover $30,000 and my premium cost would be lower than what I am paying for insurance right now.
