I’m looking into how people get around in different parts of the country for fun and I’m wondering the benefits of each. Why is walking better than driving?

That sounds like it could be very fun and interesting! There are pros and cons to each, but walking is better than driving from a health, environmental, and safety perspective.
From a health perspective, walking can help you manage your weight, control blood pressure, and strengthen your bones and joints. It can also prevent several diseases, such as heart attack, stroke, and glaucoma. Plus, regular exercise like walking can greatly improve your mental health.
