Why Does Using My Turn Signal Cancel My Cruise Control?

This is so bizarre! For some reason, whenever I use my left turn signal, it shuts off my cruise control. It also doesn’t do it every single time, just like 90% of the time. Why would my left turn signal shut off my cruise control?

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this cruise control issue. As strange as it sounds, though, it’s not that uncommon to have your cruise control affected by your turn signal. Basically, it boils down to an electrical wiring issue. More often than not, the culprit ends up being a damaged, frayed, or faulty wire.
Depending on what exactly is causing the problem, you may need to take your car to a mechanic or automotive electrician to have the faulty wiring located and repaired. Before you do that, though, there are a couple of things you can try at home.
One common culprit is the flasher. Replacing the flasher is easy and cheap. Usually, the flasher is stored near the kick panel by the driver’s feet, but it’s different for every car.
You can also try replacing the bulbs in your exterior lights. A burnt-out or broken light could be causing a short which could result in the issue you’re having.
If changing the flasher and bulbs didn’t help, you’ll need to have a professional look at it. To save them time (and yourself money) you can suggest that they start their electrical diagnostics with the left tail light wiring.
While the automotive electrician is hunting down the source of your faulty wiring, take a few minutes to save hundreds off your
