We’re about to buy a new SUV and we know we want a Mazda. My wife is mostly in charge of picking the new car, as long as it meets my one condition: it has to have a sunroof. So which Mazda SUV has a sunroof?

If you want to be technical, no Mazda SUVs offer an actual sunroof, but many come fitted with a moonroof. You’d be hard-pressed to find any new car with a sunroof, which consists of a totally opaque and moveable piece. Instead, today’s carmakers opt for the moonroof, which has a sliding glass panel that can be covered with an interior shade.
With that technicality out of the way, you’ll be happy to learn that you have several options for getting a new Mazda SUV with a moonroof. Here’s a list of the models to consider:
- Mazda MX-30 EV: This vehicle is only available for sale in California, and comes standard with a moonroof.
- Mazda CX-9: The CX-9 is equipped with a moonroof on every trim level.
- Mazda CX-50: The moonroof is not standard on the lower CX-50 trims, but you can find it on the 2.5 S Preferred Plus trim and up.
- Mazda CX-5andCX-30: These two models both offer a moonroof starting with the 2.5 S Preferred trim and up.
