Where is the Tesla Model S made?

I’m always reading about Elon Musk and Tesla, and I think I’m finally ready to join the ranks of Tesla owners. The Tesla Model S appeals to me in particular, but I’d like to find out a little bit more about its production. Where does Tesla make the Model S?

Tesla burst onto the scene in 2008 and has since boomed in popularity, building four factories in China, Germany, and the United States to meet demand. Today, the Tesla Fremont Factory in
Fremont, California
is the only plant that currently makes the Model S.
Opened in 2010, this factory covers more than 5.5 million square feet and employs around 10,000 workers. In addition to the Model S, the Fremont Factory also builds the
Model X
Model Y
, and
Model 3
, as well as the future Tesla Roadster that’s destined for production in 2023.
As a luxury electric vehicle, the Tesla Model S can get shockingly expensive to insure—especially if you don’t know where to look. Fortunately,
