Where is the spare tire in a Dodge Grand Caravan?

I woke up to a flat tire on my minivan this morning. I looked everywhere for my spare, but I don’t see it anywhere. Where do I find a Dodge Caravan’s spare tire?

The spare tire for the Dodge Grand Caravan is located in the undercarriage at the front of the van. It’s a pretty weird spot!
Here’s how to get your spare tire out from underneath your Grand Caravan:
  • Step 1: Retrieve your tire change tool kit and car jack found in the sidewall compartment in the rear cargo area of your Grand Caravan.
  • Step 2: Bring the tire change tool to the front seat.
  • Step 3: Pull the rear drawer of your center console all the way out.
  • Step 4: Open the front-most storage container in your center console and remove the bottom lining. You should see a hole about 3 inches in diameter that gives you access to the spare tire winch.
  • Step 5: Use the tire change tool to crank the spare tire winch and lower the spare tire to the ground. Keep turning until the winch won’t turn anymore.
  • Step 6: Get out of the van and use the tire change tool to pull the spare tire out from under the van.
  • Step 7: Remove the spare tire from the spare tire container.
  • Step 8: Replace the spare tire container by repeating steps 3, 4, and 5 in the opposite order.
If you want to avoid having to change your own tires ever again, you might want to consider adding
towing and labor coverage
to your
car insurance
. This type of coverage pays for things like tire changes, fuel delivery, locksmith services, and more.
