Are brakes covered under my Subaru warranty?
I need some brake work done on my Subaru. Is that covered by my Subaru’s warranty?

It depends on what specifically needs to be done. Some components of your brakes are covered under your Subaru warranty.
Every new Subaru has the following warranty coverage:
- New vehicle warranty: Bumper-to-bumper coverage for three years or 36,000 miles
- Wear item warranty: Covers worn brake pads, worn shoe linings, clutch linings, and wiper blades for three years or 36,000 miles
- Powertrain warranty: Covers engine, drivetrain, and transmission for five years or 60,000 miles
- Seat belt warranty: Covers seat belt components for the lifetime of the vehicle, but does not include cosmetic repairs
- Rust perforation warranty: Covers corroded panels that have rusted from the inside out, but does not cover cosmetic rust repairs
So, as long as your Subaru is less than three years old and you’ve driven less than 36,000 miles, your worn brake pads and worn brake shoes are covered by your warranty.
