Where can I find towing coverage for my car?

Where can I get one for any future incidences? Last week I accidentally forgot to turn off my headlights before I headed into work. Needless to say, 10 hours later, the battery was dead. $150 later, I realize I wish I had bought a towing package.

Towing and labor coverage
is handy to have around and is relatively inexpensive. There are few options that you will want to consider.
  1. Check with your insurance carrier to see if they can add a towing and labor package to your policy. Companies like
    Progressive
    and
    GEICO
generally have towing and labor options priced at less than $20 per year.
Standard coverage includes towing, jump starts, lockout services, and tire changes.
  1. You can look into a membership program like
    AAA
or Urgently. This type of towing package is priced a little higher, around $100 per year.
Depending on your lifestyle, the benefits could outweigh the cost. A membership could cover:
  • extended mileage towing
  • jump starts
  • lockout services
  • tire changes
Additionally, you could have discounts on rental cars and hotels, vacation planning, and even trip interruption coverage.
  1. Lastly, check with your credit card company. Some credit cards have built-in benefits most customers aren’t aware of. Towing and rental car coverage are just a few of the options that may be available to you.”
