When will the S15 be legal in the U.S.?

I just got my license and the Nissan S15 has been my dream car for a while (ever since I saw it in Tokyo Drift!). I know you can’t take them on the road here right now, but when will the S15 be legal in the U.S.?

You luckily won’t have to wait much longer! The 1999
Nissan
Silvia S15 will be legal in the U.S. starting in January 2024—this is when the model will be 25 years old and is therefore exempt from NHTSA restrictions.
Remember that you need to check the exact model year of the car you are hoping to import, as any models 2000 or later still fall under restrictions from the NHTSA.
