I heard that Mazda is bringing the CX-7 back. We’ll be buying a new midsize SUV next year, and I’m wondering what’s new about the 2023 Mazda CX-7?

There are rumors that the
Mazda CX-7
midsize crossover SUV will be back for the 2023 model year, but there’s no official release from Mazda on that to date. However, apparently, someone did leak some information to MotorTrend, which published an article teasing the release last year. If there is a new Mazda CX-7 forthcoming, it will likely be a collaboration with their partner company, Toyota, according to MotorTrend. Here’s what they say the new updates will include:
- A gas-electric hybrid powertrain
- A probable 2.5-Liter I4 engine
However, Mazda has only announced three new SUVs for its 2023 lineup—the compact CX-50, and the midsize CX-70 and CX-90.
