The day has finally come—my faithful Lexus that I’ve owned for almost 15 years needs a new transmission. I’m not sure whether to replace it or to buy another car. What’s a Lexus ES300 transmission replacement cost?

Edmunds once noted that the Lexus ES300 “sets the standard for entry-level luxury sedans,” and many ES300 owners are like you—loyal to their cars! Depending upon your car’s model year, you can expect to pay around $3,500 for a replacement and between $1,500 to $3,500 for a transmission rebuild.
You should ask your mechanic whether rebuilding the transmission is an option. If it is, this approach will likely save you some money, as the table below indicates:
