The first
Chevrolet Camaro LS
was released in 1998 with an original MSRP of $22,790, and it was available as a coupe, convertible, or the Z28 SS. Nowadays, you can find a used ‘98 Camaro LS for $1,000 to $2,500.The LS moniker usually denotes the base trim of the Camaro, but don’t let that fool you into thinking that a mere “base” Camaro isn’t fast—it’s damn fast! Equipped with a 305-horsepower V8 engine, the ‘98 Camaro LS was known for blazing acceleration and tight cornering grip, and it was available for a song compared to most other sports cars at the time.
The interior, while functional, wasn’t much to write home about, but it did have white leather upholstery across every trim.
