The Rendezvous was GM’s first model in the crossover SUV segment. The CX was the base offering, while the CXL was a higher-tier trim level.
The Buick Rendezvous CX was advertised as a combination of the best aspects of a minivan, luxury automobile, and SUV. Instead of four-wheel drive, the Rendezvous had a fully automatic all-wheel-drive system with specific snow and inclement weather applications. It also was equipped with a standard fully independent rear suspension system.
