What is the Subaru Ascent's towing capacity?

I live in Vermont, so I’m used to snow and going up into the mountains. Since I’ve lived there, I’ve found Subarus to be the best and most affordable option available. I want a new car, and the Ascent looks like a great deal. That said, I don’t want to skimp on power. What is the towing capacity of the Subaru Ascent?

If you want vehicle capable of handling the
Vermont
winters and mountains, the
Subaru Ascent
is a great option. But don’t be worried about power: the Subaru Ascent can tow 2,000 pounds standard and up to 5,000 pounds with an optional Class III trailer hitch.
With these power numbers, the Subaru Ascent has the highest towing capacity of any Subaru model. Behind the Ascent’s towing capacity is its 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that kicks out an impressive 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. And because it uses a smaller engine displacement and compensates with a turbocharger, you’ll even get 27 mpg on the highway!
If you decide to go with the Subaru Ascent, remember that you always need proper car insurance coverage to protect your new favorite asset. That’s when
