What is the size and cost of a Ford Explorer Limited rims?

Recently, I bought a high-mileage, used Ford Explorer for a work SUV (I will be towing a utility trailer). It runs great, but needs new rims and tires. I’d like to get some practical rims, but ones that will last. What is the size and cost of rims for a Ford Explorer Limited?

Your
Ford Explorer Limited
rims likely fall between 17 to 21 inches in diameter, depending upon your Explorer’s year.. Stock rims for Ford Explorers start at around $75/rim for steel rims (without tires and installation).
Since you’ll be hauling a trailer, you probably want to buy the strongest rims for the money. Here is an overview of your choices.
Rim materials:
  • Steel. This is the least expensive rim material. Sturdy and heavy, they last a long time and usually can be repaired easily.
  • Alloy. Made of an alloy of lighter metals such as aluminum, alloy wheels are lighter and come in a wide variety of styles. Alloys are the most common rim materials.
  • Carbon-fiber. These expensive rims combine the strength of steel with the light-weight nature of alloy/aluminum wheels. However, you won’t find them on the average car—they’re mainly used only on race tracks.
While steel rims may seem like the obvious choice, keep in mind that because they’re heavy, they will put a bit more strain on your Explorer’s suspension. Before making your choice, consult a local tire retailer or Ford dealer. You can also join online discussion boards to see what SUV and truck owners have to say about steel vs. alloy rims.
May you have good luck with Explorer!
When you’re looking around for the best rims for your SUV or truck, it can take more time than you anticipate. The same can be true when comparing

rates. Each insurance company requires you to fill out lengthy forms before seeing a quote. It’s not surprising, then, that most people give up after filling out an online application or two—and they often end up paying too much.
