What is the oil type for a 2011 Ford F150 5.0?

I just bought a 2011 Ford F150 5.0 and I’m feeling adventurous. I want to try changing the oil myself. What kind of oil do I need?

Learning how to change your oil is a skill that will last a lifetime! Your 2011 Ford F150 5.0 oil type is SAE 5W-20 and the truck will require 7.7 quarts or 7.3L of oil to complete a full oil change.
To keep your truck running as it should, Ford recommends using Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil brand and to check your engine oil every 10,000 miles or at least once a year if you don’t drive your truck much.
Another note-worthy tip is to avoid using supplemental engine oil additives, cleaners, or engine treatments. Additional additives or the wrong motor oil can damage your engine and void any remaining Ford warranty, if you have one.
Performing your own oil changes is a great way to
save money on car expenses
and another is by finding lower
