I’m at the tail end of my trip to Yellowstone National Park. I want to make a detour to Denver, Colorado to visit a friend before heading home. What’s the best route to Denver?

Denver
:- Take the N Fork Highway northeast
- Near Cody, merge onto Yellowstone Avenue
- Follow the bend in the road as Yellowstone becomes 8th Street, then turn right on Canyon Avenue
- Turn right onto 11th Street and continue onto S Fork Avenue
- Turn left onto Stampede Avenue
- In 1 mile, turn right onto US-14 E, then turn right onto WY-120 E
- Drive 81 miles, then turn right onto S 6th Street
- In half a mile, continue onto US-20 E
- In 32 miles, turn left onto US-20 E/US-26 E
- Drive 93 miles, then merge onto I-25 S in Casper
- I-25 will take you into Denver
The total trip will be about 542 miles and will take around 8 hours and 20 minutes without traffic. While the drive is long, it’s still short enough to power through in one day if you’re so inclined!
