After years of waiting, I’m finally ready to take a road trip to Grand Canyon. And now that I’m getting ready for the trip, I need to start learning a little more about how to plan it. For starters, what exactly is the best route for me to take from Sedona to the Grand Canyon South Rim?

The trip from Sedona to the
Grand Canyon South Rim
is much shorter than most people realize. In fact, driving straight there only takes about two hours in total. If your goal is speed, then here is the best route from Sedona to the Grand Canyon South Rim:- Take State route 89A to Interstate 40.
- Take Interstate 40 to Highway 64.
- Continue on Highway 64 until you reach the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park.
Hopefully, these instructions can help make your trip as quick and easy as possible. But exploring national parks and taking road trips is just as much about the drive as it is about the destination.

- Bell Rock: If you have a few hours to spare, consider hiking up to Bell Rock—a bell-shaped butte at the top of a beautiful mountain. If the rock doesn’t seem worth your time, the view certainly will.
