What is the 2012 Kia Optima oil type?

All my friends change the oil in their cars and I’m determined to also learn how to do it. I’m worried about making a mistake (and getting made fun of by my friends). I’ve been told the worst thing you can do is use the wrong oil. Which type do I need?

Changing your car’s oil isn’t that hard! The 2012
Kia Optima
oil type is Mobil 1 - Advanced Full Synthetic 5W-20 Motor Oil. You’ll need to get 5 quarts of it.
If you really want to impress your friends, you can also learn how to do these other car maintenance tasks:
  • Shake your PCV valve
  • Replace the engine air filter
  • Replace non-headlight bulbs
  • Replace a broken antenna
  • Touch up any chipped paint on your car’s exterior
  • Fix small dents
  • Fix tears in leather or vinyl seats
  • Replace your cabin air filter
  • Change power steering fluid
  • Brush out the air vents
Remember, though, you don’t want to bite off more than you can chew. Make sure you know how to service and maintain a car before trying. If you’re unsure, it’s better to take your car to a mechanic who can do it properly.
