What is the 2008 Honda Odyssey oil type?

I have a 2008 Honda Odyssey, and I’m looking for details on how to do an oil change. What kind of oil do I need to buy for it?

The 3.5 L six-cylinder engine in the 2008
Honda Odyssey
requires Advanced Full Synthetic 5W-20 Motor Oil. Ideally, you want to use synthetic oil in your van to improve engine performance and extend the time between oil changes.
On top of changing your oil, Honda suggests having your Odyssey serviced every 7,500 miles to ensure proper performance. But the more mileage you put on your van, the more frequently inspections will need to be completed. You’ll also want to do a tire rotation and multipoint inspection when changing your oil.
Here are some other maintenance items that should be inspected once you hit 15,000 miles:
  • Engine oil filter replacement
  • Brakes and parking brake adjustments
  • Tie-rod ends
  • Steering gear box and boots
  • Driveshaft boots
  • Suspension components
  • Brake hose and lines
  • Fluid levels and condition
  • Cooling system hoses and connections
