What is the 2004 Saturn Ion’s oil type?

I bought a used 2004 Saturn Ion for $500. I don’t drive it all that much, but it seems like it burns oil quickly. Since I only spent $500, I’m not going to fix the cause of the problem; I’m just going to change the oil more frequently—what oil type do I need for a 2004 Saturn Ion?

Saturn Ion
 remains a fan favorite. Since you got a sweet deal on your car, you may as well fill it with the best oil possible—the 2004 Saturn Ion’s oil type is SAE 5W-30 synthetic motor oil, which provides a mix of excellent lubrication and performance.
To properly do an oil change, you’re going to need five quarts of 5W-30. Make sure to find a repair shop or other reputable place to dispose of your old engine oil so it doesn’t contaminate the soil or groundwater.
