What do you do if your insurance company drops you after complaining about body shop repairs?

I was in an accident and had to get my vehicle repaired. When I got my vehicle back, I wasn’t happy with it. I complained to my insurance about the quality and safety of my vehicle after repairs. After that, they dropped me. What should I do?

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with your
car insurance company
. I know accidents are stressful, so losing insurance coverage after an accident isn’t ideal. That said, car insurance companies are subject to strict state guidelines, so legally, there are only a few reasons why an insurance company can drop you.
The first thing you should do is contact your insurance company. An agent or representative should give you an exact reason why they denied your coverage. Also, check your mail. Insurance companies must send a letter explaining why your coverage ended.
You should also reach out to the body shop if you haven’t already. They are responsible for the quality of their work. If your vehicle still isn’t fixed, they should be willing to look at it again to address any issues with their work.
Beyond that, you’ll need to get insurance coverage as soon as possible.
Driving without car insurance
can result in fines, tickets, license suspension, and registration suspension.
If you want cheap car insurance quotes fast, go to
Jerry
. A licensed broker that offers end-to-end support, the Jerry app gathers affordable quotes, helps you switch plans, and will even help you cancel your old policy. The average Jerry driver saves $879 a year on car insurance.
Should you be unable to resolve the issue with your insurance company, you can submit a complaint to your state’s Department of Insurance. You also could visit a lawyer that specializes in car insurance claims. Many offer free consultations, giving you a better idea of what to do next.
Good luck!
