It makes sense to think that tightening your spark plugs as much as possible is the best way to prevent them from coming loose—but there’s such a thing as too much. Simply put, over-tightening your spark plug can cause damage to the wire. Specifically, it can damage your spark plug thread, which means you’ll have to replace the spark plug wire repeatedly.
