My friend just moved to Portland and she’s excited to have me come visit. She hasn’t really explored the city yet, so I thought I’d bring some suggestions to the table. What are some of the best things to do in Portland?

The City of Roses is where almost everyone starts their

journey, but with plenty to do, you could easily spend the entire time exploring. If you and your friend need some options, here are the best things to do in Portland:- Tour the International Rose Test Garden. Portland got its nickname for a reason, as roses tend to grow wonderfully due to the climate. With over 10,000 roses, the garden just might make you grow fond enough to start a rose garden of your own.
- Go to the Portland Saturday Market. Started in 1974, this market has over 250 booths with local art, produce, knickknacks, and more.
- Walk through Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Stretching along the banks of the Willamette River in downtown Portland, this park provides excellent views of the city and remains a beloved green space within the city since it was constructed in 1978.
