Is I-70 a toll road in Pennsylvania?

I’ll be taking I-70 through most of Pennsylvania on a road trip soon unless it’s a toll road. I’d rather go out of my way to avoid having to stop at a toll. Is I-70 a toll road?

Part of I-70 is a toll road in
Pennsylvania
, specifically the portion concurrent with the Pennsylvania Turnpike. This section of I-70 is one of just two parts of the interstate that are tolled; the other portion is in Kansas.
If you want to avoid tolls in Pennsylvania, you’ll have to stay off the PA Turnpike. This is the only tolled road in Pennsylvania, so you won’t have to stop at tolls unless you take this route through the state. Unfortunately, since the turnpike is often the easiest and fastest route, you’ll have to consciously avoid it!
Pro tip: Before taking any road trips in PA, make sure to familiarize yourself with some of the
state road laws
.
