Is home insurance included in your mortgage payments?

My brother and I are really close to closing on a family vacation house in Georgia and we were both wondering, is home insurance included in the mortgage payments?

Unfortunately, homeowners insurance is not included in your mortgage payments. Your homeowner’s premium is a separate policy and expense from your mortgage loan.
However, although these are separate expenses, they can be paid together through an
escrow account
set up by your lender. So while your home insurance isn’t included in the number you receive for your mortgage estimates, you may be able to pay for both expenses at once.
If you are interested in an escrow account, get in touch with your lender to find out more.
Although buying a home is undoubtedly a large expense, paying for
home
and
auto
insurance doesn’t have to be. If you’re interested in saving hundreds of dollars on your premiums, check out the
