Is driving through West Virginia dangerous?
Will it be dangerous for me to drive through West Virginia? I’m planning a road trip and we’ll have to pass through. I read online that it’s really hard to navigate and now I’m worried!

Statistically, West Virginia is considered one of the most dangerous states to drive through. This is partially due to the number of rural roads with sharp curves and hills and partially due to the high rate of fatal accidents in the state.
Try not to panic, though! There are a few things you can do to
curb the danger
of driving through West Virginia:- Remain alert. Watch for signs warning of hazards ahead, such as police lights, a reckless driver, or road signs alerting you to danger.
- Take it slow—but not too slow. While you can certainly reduce your speed when driving in a dangerous area, driving too slowly could put you at risk, too. Try to drive the speed limit when you can.
- Remove any distractions, like loud music or chatter from your passengers. That way, you’ll be able to focus your attention on the road.
