How reliable is a rebuilt engine?

I found a car that I absolutely love, and the price is great, but it has a rebuilt engine. Is that going to be reliable?

When something has to be repaired, it’s easy to assume it won’t be as good as it once was, but that’s actually not the case when it comes to a rebuilt engine. In fact, rebuilt engines are usually just as good, if not better, than new.
Some of the benefits of rebuilt engines include:
  • The engine manufacturer warranty
  • Improved gas mileage
  • Lower emissions
We’d definitely recommend you double-check with the current owner to ensure they have all the warranty paperwork for the rebuild, but otherwise, there’s no reason you should balk at this opportunity to get your dream car!
