How reliable is a RAV4?

Is the Toyota RAV4 a good car? My sister offered to sell me her old one to give to my son as his first car, but I do want to make sure that it will last for a while. I want him to be able to use it in college, too.

The
Toyota RAV4
has a good reliability rating, particularly when compared with other compact SUVs on the market right now. It’s also very safe, which makes it a great choice for your son’s first car.
As for life expectancy, many drivers get 200,000 to 250,000 miles out of their RAV4s before encountering major issues. Depending on the number of miles on the vehicle already, this should be more than enough for your son to take the car to college with him.
Remember that you’ll also need to insure your son’s new car. Teen
