How old do you need to be to rent a car in Washington?

I’m headed up to Washington to visit a friend in the Seattle area. She doesn’t have a car, but I was thinking about renting one to avoid using Uber or taxis. The only issue is that I’m only 22. What age do you need to be to rent a car in Washington?

You only need to be 21 years old to rent a car in
Washington
. Although you’ll have to pay for parking and gas, a rental is probably the cheaper option compared to ridesharing services or cabs.
Because you’re only 22, the rental car company may charge an additional young driver fee and restrict what types of rentals you can get. This is standard practice for any renter under the age of 25.
If you already have car insurance, keep in mind that you can decline
rental car insurance
because your personal policy will cover it.
Since you’re under 25, your car insurance is often far more expensive than other drivers, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t shop around. Download the
