How much does it cost to tint your car windows?
I've always thought window tinting looked cool. I've got an SUV and would like to save up to get all of the windows tinted. About how much will that cost?

Tinting your windows is great not just because it looks cool, but also because it protects you against harmful UV rays. The minimum you can expect to pay for an SUV is about $500.
Each state has laws regarding how dark you can make your windows, so make sure to check with local regulations. Once you know what your state allows, you can choose between different types of tinting:
- Dyed (cheapest and requires reapplications)
- Metalic (metal mixed in with the dye to help protect your car from UV rays, though it effects electronics)
- Hybrid (Mix of dyed and metallic)
- Carbon (matte finish)
- Crystalized (this is for people who want UV protection without the darkness)
- Ceramic (most expensive, blocks 99% of UV rays, adds an extra layer of protection for your windows and with no effects on your electronics)
Depending on what type of tint you want, you can choose a tint color, such as bronze, amber, grey, or gold.
