How much does it cost to fix grinding brakes?

The brakes in my car are making this awful grinding noise. I’ve never heard anything like it. What’s this going to set me back? How much is it to fix grinding brakes?

Grinding brakes indicate a serious safety hazard, and you’ll want to get your car serviced before you continue to drive with this critical safety feature in that condition. The cost varies for fixing grinding brakes as it depends on the cause of the grinding.
Getting the brakes lubricated is the cheapest solution here, usually costing around. Most shops will do this for $50 or less, or sometimes even free if you’re getting other brake work done.
It’s more likely aging brake pads or rotors, though, and these repairs get more expensive. Changing all four brake pads will usually cost anywhere between $150 to $350. You should get all four replaced, too, so the pads wear evenly.
Brake rotors are more expensive to replace. These will usually set you back around $250 to $600 per axle. Sporty cars and luxury cars will almost always have pricier repair bills since they often have fancier brake rotors.
Replacing wheel bearings is the most expensive repair, ranging from around $200 to $800 per wheel. And again, nicer cars and sports cars will typically cost more to repair than other vehicles.
