How do I perform a Mazda CX-5 infotainment system update?
The screen on my Mazda CX-5’s center console keeps saying that there is a system update available, but I am unsure how to download it. How do I perform a Mazda CX-5 infotainment system update?

For most Mazda models—including your Mazda CX-5—you can update the infotainment system software via the multimedia display screen attached to the center console unit.
Follow these Mazda infotainment update instructions:
- Step 1: Select the “SETTINGS” button from the home screen.
- Step 2: Scroll until you find the “SYSTEMS” tab. Select it.
- Step 3: Here you will be able to update your music database and software, either by selecting “OS Version,” “Gracenote Version,” or “Search for Software Updates.”
- Step 4: If an update is available, select “Download” and confirm it.
- Step 5: The update will then download and, once finished, the update will install.
This is the standard procedure for most Mazda infotainment updates.
Pro tip: If you’re still having trouble updating your Mazda CX-5’s infotainment system software you can take your vehicle to a local Mazda dealership and have them perform an in-person system update for you.
Your Mazda CX-5 may be operating on a 59.00.502 or lower software version, so you will have to take your vehicle to the dealership for an update.
