How many spark plugs are in a 4-cylinder Toyota Camry?
My Toyota Camry has started stalling often. It shouldn’t be the battery since I just replaced it. Now I’m planning to check the spark plugs and replace them if needed. How many plugs are there?

Spark plugs may wear out around 30,000 miles—but they can last up to 100,000 miles if you’re lucky. Failing spark plugs will lead to problems starting the engine, engine misfires, and stalling.
There are different types of spark plugs available on the market. This includes:
- Copper spark plugs: cheapest but don’t last as long
- Platinum spark plugs: better heat resistance than copper and will last longer
- Double platinum spark plugs: has platinum in two electrodes, which helps it last even longer
- Iridium spark plugs: most expensive, more durable than platinum, lasts the longest
That being said, be sure to check your owner’s manual to see if there are specific requirements before you go ahead and change your spark plugs.
