While the
BMW M2
isn’t uncommon enough to be considered a collectible, it’s still pretty rare. Unfortunately, official production numbers for the M2 were never made public, but automotive press sources estimate that between 2,000 and 4,000 units were made each year from 2015 to 2021.
The rarest version of the BMW M2 is likely the 2017 Performance Edition, of which only 150 were sold in the United States. This model came in a pristine, alpine white finish with black leather upholstery and unique blue stitching, and featured sport upgrades like a coil-over suspension, a 370-horsepower turbocharged engine, and double-clutch transmission. The M2 Performance Edition had a top speed of 168 miles per hour.
The BMW M2 is a popular pick amongst sports car enthusiasts for its potent powertrain and sport-tuned features and as a result, it’s being reintroduced for the 2023 model year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the BMW M lineup! The new model starts at $63,195 and comes with a twin-turbocharged engine that makes 453 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. According to BMW, the new M2 will be able to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.
