How long does the driving test take in Florida?

I have my driving test coming up in just a few days, but nobody has told me how long the test will last. How long should I expect it to take?

I hope you’re able to stay relaxed in the days leading up to your road test! Road tests usually around 20 minutes, and driving tests in Florida are no exception.
The time can vary based
on traffic
and where you take it, but it should never run longer than a half-hour.
Depending on how busy the testing site is that day, it may take some time for an instructor to become available. With that in mind, it will benefit you to leave an hour or two of your day open for the test.
While taking your road test your instructor may ask you to:
  • Parallel park
  • Perform a U-turn
  • Merge into another lane
Remember to adjust your mirrors before starting the car, and you always need to use your turn signals properly.
Parallel parking
is the thing that scares a lot of new drivers, but some of the smaller details are just as important.
