How far back can employers check your driving record in California?

I’m in the process of changing careers and getting my CDL license. I’m just a little worried about some speeding tickets that I got almost 20 years ago. How far back can a potential employer look into your driving record in California?

Employers typically check your driving record in
California
as far back as seven years. However, depending on the situation, an employer may choose to delve deeper into your driving past, especially if the records are still available.
If you’re concerned about certain infractions marrying your driving record long-term, you could submit a request to the California DMV to have your record expunged.
Keep in mind: Even if you are granted an expungement of certain traffic violations, convictions such as a
DUI
will not be erased.
