How do you turn off adaptive cruise control?

I'm hoping to get my learners permit this year, and I have a few questions about car-related things. This may seem like a silly question, but how do you turn off adaptive cruise control?

That isn’t a silly question—we all have to start somewhere!
To turn off adaptive cruise control, check your wheel for the cruise control button, which can look like the word “cruise”, arrow symbols, and more—be sure to check your owner’s manual to see what the symbol is in your car.
Press this button to turn it off. When adaptive cruise control is on, you should see an icon in your dashboard lit up. This symbol typically looks like a speedometer, a car crossing lanes, or other similar icons. As long as it’s not lit up, then your adaptive cruise control is off.
