How do you tie down a bicycle in a truck bed?
I just bought a new mountain bike to take out on the trail near where I live, but I don’t know how I should transport it. What’s the best way to tie down a bicycle in a truck bed?

Bicycling is a great way to exercise and experience nature—just don’t forget your helmet! If you need to transport a bike and don’t have a carrier that mounts to the rear of your vehicle, you can still do it easily with a

and a pair of ratchet straps. Just follow these steps:
- Remove the seat from the bike
- Set it upside down in the bed of the pickup with the rear wheel towards the truck cab
- Attach both ratchet straps to anchor points on the bed in a way that hold the bike in place
- Carefully tighten the straps until the bicycle is secure
