How do you remove the radio from a Honda CR-V?

Is there a way to remove the radio from a Honda CR-V? My radio broke, but my brother said he would put in a new one if I took out the broken one.

Stereo removal can be a little complicated, but it’s definitely possible! Here’s how to remove the
Honda CR-V
:
  1. Find the interior knee panel, which is right below the steering wheel on the driver’s side. Remove the two Phillips-head screws that secure it in place.
  2. Undo the clips with your hands and pull the panel away from your dashboard.
  3. Open the glove box. Hold down the sides, then push the sides of the glove box in so that it drops downwards.
  4. Remove the two Phillips-head screws located on the left side of the glove box.
  5. Locate the small interior pocket at the bottom middle of your dash. Using an interior clip removal tool, take off the clips on either side. Carefully remove the panel from the dash.
  6. Grab the plastic panel that’s located just below the stereo and carefully pull it away from the dash.
  7. Disconnect the cigarette lighter by removing the fuse with your fingers so that you can remove the panel.
  8. Locate the two Phillips-head screws on either side of the stereo and remove them using your screwdriver.
  9. Use a ¼ inch ratchet to remove the two 8mm bolts located on either side of the stereo.
  10. Pull the stereo panel away from the dashboard and unplug the wiring harness and antenna lead from the back of the stereo.
  11. Use a ¼ inch ratchet and socket to unbolt the stereo from the stereo panel.
  12. Gently slide your stereo out of the stereo panel. Now, you can hand your car off to your brother to install your new radio!
If this process sounds daunting, it might be best to call a professional. Removing a radio will typically cost you $65 to $100 in labor at a shop. If you decide to go this route, you won’t have to worry about accidentally damaging your car in the process!
