How do you remove engine oil from concrete?
My car sprung on a leak and left an unsightly grease stain on my driveway. I’d like to clean the stain, but I’ve never had to clean up engine oil before. Is it possible to remove engine oil from concrete?

Oh no! Having a stubborn oil stain on your driveway can be a pain. Luckily, the discoloration left behind by engine oil can be easily removed from your driveway or garage floor by following the steps below:
- If the spill is still wet, start by covering the stain with an absorbent solution. Clay cat litter, sand, cornmeal, cornstarch, and baking soda are all great options (Note: If the spill has dried up, start by spraying the stain with water)
- After the spill has dried, sweep up the absorbent solution and wet the stain with water
- Mix together baking soda and water to create a paste
- Using a broom or other stiff brush, scrub the area with the paste mixture
- Rinse the pavement clean with water and allow it to air dry
