How do you put a Lexus CT 200h in neutral with a dead battery?

Is there any way to put the Lexus CT 200h in neutral without turning on the car? My battery is dead and I need to move my Lexus so I can open the hood to jump it.

Here’s how to put a
Lexus CT 200h
in neutral with a dead battery:
  1. Engage the parking brake.
  2. To the left of your gear shift, you should see a small plastic cover. Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully pop this cover open. Inside, you should see a small slot or button.
  3. Using the same screwdriver, press the button or slot inwards and hold it. This is the gear shift release.
  4. With the gear shift release still pressed, shift your car into neutral as normal. Remember, your car will now roll freely, so be ready to direct your vehicle once you release the parking brake!
