Step outside your car
Locate the small rectangular door on the right-hand side of your car
Push on the door to reveal the gas cap
Unscrew the gas cap turning counterclockwise

When you go to the gas station, choose the best gasoline for your specific Volkswagen Golf model year and trim level.

For example, if your Golf is equipped with a turbocharged engine, premium gas may be worth the price since turbocharged engines run best on gasoline with high octane rating.
