How do you open the gas tank in a 2018 Honda Accord?
Where is the fuel tank release lever for a 2018 Honda Accord? I don’t know how to put gas in my mom’s car and I’m supposed to give it back tomorrow.

- Turn off your car and unlock your doors. This is important for vehicle safety, but also necessary for opening your fuel door.
- Get out of your car and walk to your fuel door.
- Gently, push inward on the right-hand side of your fuel door. This should trigger a spring mechanism and, with a click, your fuel door will open.
- Once your fuel door is unlatched, you can swing it fully open to access the gas tank. Your 2018 Honda Accord will not have a gas cap, so you’ll be able to fuel your vehicle directly after opening the fuel door!
- When you finish fueling, you can simply swing the fuel door closed again. Be sure that it clicks into place!
Keep in mind, your fuel door will lock just like the rest of your vehicle’s doors. If you can’t access your gas tank by following these steps, check again that your vehicle is unlocked, as this will determine whether or not your fuel door opens!
