How do you get chewing gum off of a cloth seat?

My toddler stuck chewing gum between the seats of my Highlander. My car is pretty new, so I'd like to keep it as clean as possible. Is there anything I can do to get it out?

“Got to love toddlers! Like getting gum out of hair, fortunately, there are methods that you can use to remove gum from your brand new cloth seats.
First, you’ll need to gather some supplies:
  • Ice
  • Scraper
  • Sponge
  • Vinegar
  • Spot cleaner
Then to remove the gum, you’ll need to:
  • Apply ice to the gum until it’s hard and solid.
  • Scrape the gum using a blunt scraper.
  • Pieces may come free, but keep applying the ice to make sure the remaining pieces stay hard.
  • Soak the tip of a sponge in vinegar and blot the remaining stain.
  • Use the scraper again to get at any remaining bits.
  • Dab a spot cleaner on the remaining stain if there is one.
Since your car is brand new and you’d like to protect its condition, be sure you have the proper
car insurance
. Carrying full coverage or
new car replacement coverage
can ensure your vehicle is protected if something should happen.
