How do you connect Bluetooth to a Honda Pilot from 2010?

I’m driving my aunt’s car while I house-sit for her, and I’m trying to connect my phone to the Bluetooth. Can you tell me how to connect Bluetooth to a Honda Pilot from 2010?

First, let’s make sure your aunt’s car is equipped with this feature—Bluetooth was only included in the top-tier
Honda Pilot Touring
trim for the 2010 model year. Note that this feature, called HandsFreeLink only connected hands-free phone usage for calls and texts. You won’t be able to play any music via Bluetooth in a 2010 Pilot.
Follow these steps to connect Bluetooth to a Honda Pilot from 2010:
  • Turn your car on, but leave it in PARK. Make sure your device’s Bluetooth is turned on and discoverable.
  • Press the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink button on the Honda Pilot’s steering wheel. This sometimes has a picture of a phone or a person talking. It is the top button on the left side of the column in your steering wheel’s inner T shape.
  • The voice command software will ask you if you would like to pair a phone. Press the button again and say Yes.
  • The voice command software will continue talking you through the setup, but it’s as simple as selecting HandsFreeLink on your device’s Bluetooth menu and entering a pairing code.
Now you can use voice commands to place or receive calls with ease! This feature is highly effective in helping drivers cut down on
distracted driving
. You definitely don’t want to get a ticket while driving someone else’s car—especially because it could hurt your
car insurance
rates in the future—so taking advantage of hands-free phone usage is the way to drive!
