How do you clean scuff marks off a car door?

The other day my brother kept putting his feet up on my car door even though I asked him not to. Now, it's all scuffed up and I'm not sure how to fix it. How can I clean the scuff marks off my door? (And do you happen to know anyone who needs a new little brother? I'm joking...mostly.)

“Younger siblings can definitely be frustrating, but I’m pretty sure you’re stuck with yours. Luckily, you don’t have to be stuck with the scuff marks—here’s how to clean them:
  • Get water, trim cleaner, and a Magic Eraser. If you don’t have access to a Magic Eraser, you can use a microfiber cloth or a sponge.
  • Apply trim cleaner to the area. Make sure you choose the correct cleaner—the right one depends on whether your car’s interior is vinyl or plastic.
  • Use the Magic Eraser or sponge to buff away marks. If you use a sponge, you might have to put a little more elbow grease into buffing than with a Magic Eraser.
Once the marks disappear, you can use a microfiber or lint-free cloth to wipe away any remaining cleaner. You may also want to wipe it down with some water.
And with that, you should be all set to go! If you want to make sure you’re covered for any eventuality, though—including the possibility of accidents due to chaotic sibling antics or other
car door issues
—you might want to take a look at your insurance policy to make sure you’re getting all the coverage you need.
The easiest way to do this is through the
Jerry app
—we’ll get you customized quotes from multiple providers so that all you have to do is select the plan with the most coverage and the best price. And if you decide you want to switch to a new policy or provider, we’ll help with that, too.
Best of luck with your car doors, and with your little brother! (For what it’s worth, both usually get better given care and time.)”
