Does renters insurance cover a trampoline?
I rent my house, and I was thinking of buying my kids a trampoline for the backyard. They’ve wanted one for a few years, and now we have the space for it. I have a good renters policy too. Does renters insurance cover a trampoline?

When it comes to trampolines, there isn’t a straight answer on whether or not it will be covered by
renters insurance
. It will depend on your insurance provider and their policy on trampolines. Sometimes trampolines are covered by the personal property portion of renters insurance, which will cover damage to the actual trampoline but not any injuries to a person. Your renters insurance may offer liability coverage on a trampoline, which will protect you if anyone gets hurt, but it will raise your insurance premiums.
In some circumstances, owning a trampoline can actually void your renters insurance. If you don’t have insurance yet and already have the trampoline, some insurance companies may be unwilling to give you a policy. If you buy a trampoline and don’t tell your current provider, they may void your policy and you’ll be out of luck if something happens.
