How to check the tire pressure on your 2014 Ford Explorer is simple—all you need is a reliable tire pressure gauge. If you’ve never used one of these gauges before, follow the steps below:
  • Remove the valve stem cap from each tire.
  • Press the end of the tire gauge against the valve stem you just opened.
  • Hold the gauge in position for a few seconds and check the pressure reading it gives you.
  • Compare this reading to the recommended tire pressure listed in your owner’s manual or the sticker on the driver’s side door-jamb.
  • Add or remove air as needed.
  • Replace the valve stem cap.
  • Repeat on each tire.
Your 2014 Ford Explorer’s tires—both in the front and rear—have a recommended tire pressure of exactly 35 psi, but this can change depending on whether or not you install larger, wider, or higher-performance tires.
With the right tools and know-how, checking your Ford’s tire pressure is easy—almost as easy as reducing your
