How do I turn off lane departure warning on a Toyota Camry?

I have Toyota Safety Sense P on my Toyota Camry, which features lane departure warning. The problem is that I don’t like it. The visual and aural cues are bothersome and the steering assist jerks the car. Is there a way to turn off lane departure warning on a Toyota Camry?

Lane departure warning, or lane departure alert on all Toyota models, is an active safety feature designed to keep you firmly in your lane. However, you can turn it off using the steering wheel controls on your
Toyota Camry
.
To turn off the lane departure warning on your Toyota Camry, just press the lane departure alert (LDA) button located on the right-hand side of your steering wheel. The LDA button looks like a car crossing a solid line on the right with a dotted line on the left.
However, you should note that you can also adjust the settings of LDA so that it doesn’t bother you as much. If you press the LDA button to turn LDA on, you can also use the right arrow on the steering wheel to go to settings.
Once you’re in the settings menu, scroll to the LDA screen by looking for the same icon that’s on the steering wheel. Here you can change:
  • Steering assist (on/off)
  • LDA sensitivity
  • Alerts (aural/visual)
While most car safety experts recommend that you keep LDA on, the choice is entirely yours. Maybe by adjusting the settings, you can get rid of some of the features that annoy you.
But advanced safety features alone can’t protect you when you’re behind the wheel. Instead, search and shop for the best insurance coverage by using the
